Your role

About the Graduate Program:

Are you a highly motivated graduate currently studying Chemistry or Applied science? Be part of Ampol's excellent 2-year program within their manufacturing division. As a Chemist Graduate, you’ll have the unique opportunity to gain exposure working in a major hazard facility lab with an extensive range of equipment for testing.

You’ll be part of a dynamic team that operates in an agile environment, gaining first-hand experience in future fuels and future energy research and projects. The graduate Chemist role will also be working on a variety of work and volume types and testing in water samples, raw materials and crude-to-finish products.

Hired on a permanent full-time basis, you’ll complete 6-month rotations across the respective business units where you will learn and develop under the guidance of Leaders and teams. Their Leaders bring strong technical expertise, cross-functional experience, and a commercial focus that propels their business forward and they are dedicated to passing on their knowledge to the next generation, which could be you!

About you

Ideally, the Chemist Graduate will be an individual who has familiarity with wet chemistry, gas chromatography, distillations and extractions but it is not essential.

In my current department, each day is different as the nature of the work and department is extremely dynamic and inconsistent. In other departments the pace of work has been slower and more consistent. The challenge in my role has been adjusting to the pace of each department.
