Work closely with product management, product development and data engineering team

Conduct research and undertake data collection from multiple sources including internal, external, primary and secondary sources and complete data entry on DataSphere's security reference products

Maintain the database including entering new and updated security reference data by following Datasphere's data program techniques and procedures

Enhance data quality over time on new and existing data through continued data clean-up efforts

Data QA on additions and changes made to existing data sets prior to release

Report the data issue and analysis results to relevant DataSphrere team/s

Participate in the data integration process of generating daily file for new security instruments and issuers, adding /updating metadata and integrating every new output file into systems in cooperation with the product and data engineering team

Assist with internal product development projects as assigned, such as NLP for digitisation of bond term sheets and ASX company announcement, with the aim to improve automation, efficiency and effectiveness of solutions.

Success Criteria in 6 Months

  • Identify, update, clean-up and transform AUD fixed income security issue and issuer category data sets into a format that is fit for purposes of required machine learning and fixed income product creation
  • Document the data collection and analysis process and provide respective data definitions/glossary
  • Scale the data analysis and collection across credit market bonds such as ABS and MBS
  • Identify some data patterns of various issuers' bond termsheets through collecting, interpreting data and analysing results by working alongside product management and development team
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks as assigned

Candidate Requirements

  • Competency in Microsoft Office
  • Basic SQL skill is a plus
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python and R is a plus
  • Knowledge of /experience in financial market and/or computer science is a plus
  • Ability to analyse large datasets
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work remotely while also meeting performance expectations
  • Interest in learning about the financial industry
  • Must currently be enrolled in university course
  • Able to commit 3 days per week to the internship
