Ko wai mātou | About us  &  Nōu te rourou - What's in it for you?  

During our 18-month programme in Planning you will work on building your craft within your home team and home leader and under the guidance of a mentor being offered both stability and support.

  • You will also get the opportunity to work across the business gaining new skills and delivering real projects and change during three 6 monthly rotations.
  • Once the 18-month programme concludes you will be seamlessly transitioned into permanent positions within AT, from one of your rotations, continuing your journey in the AT whānau.

Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity

  • Producing content for AT's plans, policies and bylaws
  • Helping respond to proposed development from a transport perspective and liaising with staff from around AT to check impacts
  • Helping review the performance of bus & ferry routes and identifying changes which should be made to better serve communities
  • Identifying PT decarbonisation initiatives & related improved environmental outcomes Supporting the development and route protection programmes
  • Assessment of Integrated Transport Assessments and providing subject matter expertise
  • Preparation of Assessment of Environmental Effects reports, lodging and managing resource consent applications for AT Projects
  • Assessing and preparing recommendations on whether a landowner/developer's proposal for works in a Designation will prevent or hinder the future AT Project
  • Assisting Council and other external stakeholders with transport advice to inform strategies, plans, and policies
  • Assisting the provision of high-quality advice for decision makers
  • Modelling key behaviour, including responsiveness, critical thinking, use of evidence

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in planning obtained from either University or Polytechnic
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills.
  • A passion for agile ways of working, problem solving, and innovative solutions
  • Energetic, results driven and adaptable.
  • Driven and disciplined ready to give their career an amazing start.
