Through their interconnected programs and pathways, they walk with students from high school through to university and the workplace, redefining Indigenous educational and employment success.

Your role

The High School Program is an intensive student-centered support program focused on academic improvements through a cultural lens. It is the only program of its kind that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families to access educational, well-being, and cultural opportunities so they realize their academic potential and achieve their aspirations. 

This role is accountable for establishing and maintaining high levels of engagement with program stakeholders, including students, their families, Indigenous Education Officers, and other school contacts, with the object of supporting students on their education journey.

About you

The Community Engagement Facilitator plays a key role during the academic cultural engagement activities particularly camps, by continuing to build strong relationships with students

Qualifications:

  • To be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under section 14 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Board/
  • A demonstrated understanding of or capacity to learn about Indigenous histories, cultures, organisations and the issues facing Indigenous people in Australia meeting their aspirations for their communities and families
  • The ability to effectively engage with Indigenous people, stakeholders and organisations
  • Substantial experience in highly developed communications skills across a range of stakeholder groups
  • The confidence to deliver presentations and facilitate events
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • An organized, methodical and task-oriented approach to work with strong time management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working autonomously whilst maintaining a connection to program objectives and team activities
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and manage risks
  • Well-developed computer literacy, ideally including the use of CRMs
  • Driver's licence
