Current Opportunity
BDO's Risk Advisory Services (RAS) team within our Advisory division are continuing to grow as they service many of Queensland's public and private sector organisations across a diverse industry base.
Our RAS team assist clients in meeting their objectives by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, performance management, control and governance processes. As a RAS Graduate you will be given the opportunity to:
- Review and walkthrough the core business functions of a wide range of clients
- Identify improvement opportunities and refine your problem solving abilities

What you'll need to succeed
We welcome students who:
- Are in their final year (or recently completed) a dual degree in Bachelor of Information Technology, Law, Business, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Maths or relevant tertiary degree
- Display solid academic achievement
- Strong analytical problem solving skill set
- Are able to interact with all types of clients and people
- Possess fantastic communication and interpersonal skills
- Are involved in extra-curricular activities
- Are a dynamic team player with an innovative approach to work and life
- Have motivation for continuous learning and development
- Are an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent resident at time of application

I am given a fair amount of responsibility, and plenty of support to learn.
Checking emails, liaising with clients to receive information on their R&D activities, writing/drafting activities according to AusIndustry guidelines/ITAA legislation. Calculating financial incentives and meeting with clients.
Admin tasks including note taking, setting up meeting and powerpoint/word templates, writing and research tasks

Pros and cons of working at BDO Australia
Pros
The culture in and out of the office is great.
My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.
Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.
Never any pressure to stay late.
The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.
Cons
Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.
The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.
Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.
Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.
Could include more women, however this is the industry.
