My role and day-to-day responsibilities differ depending on the project I am working on. My most common duties are taking notes during meetings, scheduling meetings with stakeholders, creating presentation decks for final deliverables, testing cybersecurity controls of organisations, assisting with proposals and other business development activities.

Pros and cons of working at Deloitte Australia

Pros

  • The company provides a lot of training and learning resources, which are extremely valuable, especially for graduates.

  • Deloitte prides itself on flexibility, with employees able to work from home or from the office to suit their needs.

  • The culture is warm and welcoming. You are part of the team as soon as you walk through the door.

  • The exposure to large clients and proximity to partners opens opportunities for learning and development.

  • The Deloitte Flex program is really awesome and allows you to balance your work with your personal life easily.

Cons

    • While there is a lot of formal training, some grads feel that it doesn't always match the practical requirements of their role.

    • The pay is not always competitive compared to similar roles in other industries, and there are limited opportunities for bonuses.

    • Due to the hybrid working model, it can be difficult to connect with colleagues or build a strong team culture.

    • While there is a clear path for promotion, the process can sometimes feel slow or dependent on market conditions.

    • It can be stressful during the busy season.
