About the role

Australian Government offers financial support to businesses to support their strategic growth ambitions through a wide range of grant and incentive programs. Our Innovation Incentives team help our clients access the funding. We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an Innovations & Incentives Graduate to join our Melbourne team.

In this role, with the support of your highly collaborative team, you will develop your skills in:

  • Technical writing: using your well-developed communication skills to articulate business strategy in terms of its positive impact to Australia's economy and innovation landscape.
  • Commercial problem solving: solving business problems through analysis, critical thinking and logical reasoning.
  • Business analysis: understanding businesses from multiple perspectives using operating models, commercial strategy and understanding of their external operating environments
  • Data analysis: using client data to develop budgets, financial modelling, costings and reporting.
  • Information presentation: communicating to clients, internal stakeholders and Government to support and influence decision-making.

Skills

You'll be agile, responsive and bring innovative ideas to the table. This role will suit someone with the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Robust written communication skills with the ability to gather and analyse information from a range of sources
  • Ability to build strong working relationships
  • Positive, enthusiastic and passionate individual with a 'can do' attitude
  • Strong work ethic and customer service skills
  • A relevant tertiary qualification

Cons

    • It seems that there is not much cross over between different service lines.

    • Sometimes you are required to work after hours.

    • Sometimes you will need to visit the client that is quite far away.

    • While the starting salary may be lower, the potential for growth and advancement is promising.

    • Lots of online training modules to complete at the beginning.
