Services engineering, services design, site coordination

As a Site Engineer, my daily activities include coordinating with subcontractors to ensure timely product delivery within budget constraints. I review design specifications to ensure that civil work adheres to these standards, and I collaborate with the design team to address any issues that may arise. Additionally, I manage quality documentation, purchase orders, and invoices. I also plan for upcoming weeks, oversee concrete orders, verify reinforcement, and handle procurement tasks.

It can be either very busy or very dry but being able to adapt and seek out opportunities is crucial.

I am a second-year graduate engineer on Inland Rail Project (B2A). I am in the construction team and working on Euroa Station construction. At the moment we are working through our design and development. On a day-to-day bias my work involves working on drafting different documents for our scope of works, quantity take off, attending design meetings.

Managing databases, importing/exporting data to keep database health and up-to-date. Implementing automation solutions to improve workflow.

In these 6 months, I have worked in various roles as part of the infrastructure pre-contract project support team. I have been part of tender team for two projects where I helped with quantity take-off estimates, bid management, design and document controlling. Currently, I am assisting with pre-tender works which include creation of checklists and procurement datasheet to ensure tender readiness.

Flat out all day every day and love it! Thrown in the deep and learned so much so quickly. It helps when you have the team to support you with a wealth of knowledge and experience to question and learn from. Resilience is one of the most important skills you need to learn in construction and I have built a lot here. Basililly working as a Site Engineer from day 1 in earthworks and pavements. Lots of responsibility, lots of opportunity to learn and more avoid multiple disciplines of works.

Helping on Quality Assurance for close out

Systems & Safety Assurance Rotation: - Schedule and facilitate risk workshops (e.g. SiD) ensuring all required stakeholders present. - Facilitate communication between designers and resolve comments that come through for the risk registers - Manage Project Hazard Log and assist with requirement verification process - Run weekly lookahead meeting and distribute relevant materials - Assist with producing Safety Assurance Report and any other documentation - Keep up to date with project progress and key issues

Interacting and managing subcontractors, completing QA for various worklots, undertaking specific activities to ease the workload of my supervisor.

I use financial and risk data to drive improvement in our project outcomes. My days are spent building PowerBI dashboards and assisting in project reviews.

Day to day activities vary with the closeness of weekend possessions. When possessions are approaching the days are very busy which is enjoyable but it can be the inverse when not near possessions.

As a graduate engineer working on an electrical fitout, my work is centred around subcontractor and supplier management. I provide designs, provide solutions to subcontractor RFIs, procure construction materials, and assist with quality management.

I work in delivery, Some of my day-to-day responsibilities are: 1-Site Work including (Site measurements and markups, progress monitoring, completion of checklists) 2-Apply for work permits and liaise with different stakeholders. 3-Procurements of materials. 4-Managing Worklots. 5-Planning for site work and occupations.

A good balance of technical and people skills needed.

I am a grad civil engineering currently working on NRT project. I have worked in HV team for a year and 6 weeks in IMO team. It was a great experience in HV team, as I was able to gain great exposure on construction, given that enough flexibility to learn new things, I felt self-motivated to be able to make a contribution to the team and company. IMO is also a great experience to learn about the system aspect of the Metro train, but personally, it was not the best fit for a civil Engineer especially joining at the end of the project life.
