Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
A lot of training is available to staff. A training matrix is regularly assessed, to determine which team members would benefit from training. As an undergraduate, I have attended workshops with different experts within the business to provide insight into all of the available roles. All team members also provide work and support which acts as informal training. Formal training begins during the graduate program.
Intern, Melbourne - 07 Mar 2022
Lots of online modules and Microsoft teams learning sessions.
Intern, Melbourne - 25 Feb 2022
Formal training - through pairing us up with a project engineer and having a 'buddy' system that we can learn from and understand the industry. This was highly valuable as it not exposed us to the type of work we can expect, but provided us with a mentor that we can learn from and receive regular feedback from
Intern, Sydney - 25 Feb 2022
They organised various subject matter expert meetings for us undergraduates to learn from. These trainings exposed me to many options besides just construction roles. Moreover, these programmes allowed me to realise how much goes into construction than just building.
Intern, Randwick - 24 Feb 2022
I have undertaken a number of training programs on their company web page that involved areas of sustainability, business communication, management and health. In the undergraduate program there was multiple training programs of various areas of the business (digital, commercial, sustainability, cost planning, design). I also received alcohol and drug training as well as training for a white card.
Intern, Sydney - 24 Feb 2022
Formal undergraduate training sessions through teams calls were interesting - although the lecture style format could be a bit repetitive. Most learning opportunities were self-directed on my project - learnt about various trade packages by helping the engineer in charge of that package.
Intern, Melbourne - 24 Feb 2022
There's lots of preparation for on-site work and shadowing other engineers is very helpful.
Intern, Sydney - 23 Feb 2022
Going through the structured undergrad program I found the two-hour weekly sessions insightful. Both PE and Graduate engineers helped my navigate the job site server and the basics of iTwoCX but I feel like there needs to be a practical session where someone from the commercial team shows how to claims process works and with a P.E or S.P.E shows RFI, workflow etc process's work.

There are a number of online training modules which don't provide much additional information and it is hard to find the time to complete them. the in person training sessions have been useful so far
Graduate, Melbourne - 22 Jul 2016
All the graduates get training, and we have plenty of site-wide training too. I would like the option for more technical training related to my role.
Graduate, Sydney - 20 Jul 2016
Minimal training offered to engineers.
Graduate, Port Macquarie - 20 Jul 2016
Training is provided by the graduate whom you are replacing the role of. As graduates we were provided a training schedule with formal training in financial modelling and other various technical skills - but so far none of this has been addressed and it's been nearly 6 months.
Graduate, Sydney - 19 Jul 2016
Lots of opportunities available.
