Operations Officer at National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)
Bachelor of Business Management at RMIT University
7.00 AM
Alarms off! Time to get ready for work. It is office day today, so I need to pack my bag and head to the office in Sunshine.
8.00 AM
It takes me around 20 minutes to drive to work and about a 5-minute walk to the office from where I park, hence I always like to listen to upbeat songs. It helps boost my energy.
8.30 AM
I begin by greeting my team both in the office and on MS teams since we have colleagues based in different sites in Victoria. Once I settle into my desk, I check the new emails sent to myself and my team’s Inbox. I work in the Operations Business Support and Strategy under Service Delivery. Our team provides advice and services for Service Delivery teams across Victoria and Tasmania to ensure effective operations. Hence, continuously checking our team’s inbox is crucial.
9.00 AM
Today, I am working on a Newsletter for our team’s SharePoint Hub. The newsletter is published weekly to provide updates and reminders about different topics such as Wellbeing updates and Leadership reminders just to name a few.
10.00 AM
Making myself a coffee and looking at the view from our kitchen. In the Sunshine office, you can see the Melbourne CBD and the Westgate bridge. Pretty cool!
11.00 AM
I caught up with my manager via MS Teams’ call. This is an opportunity to discuss about the Operations projects, any work-related questions, and achievements. There are days where both me and my manager are in the office and days when I work from home or vice versa. I like how the NDIA is committed to providing a supportive environment and flexible working arrangements.
12.00 PM
It is time for lunch. YAY!!! I often order a Banh mi (Vietnamese cuisine) near our office. It is delicious! I also recommended it to my colleagues, and they liked it. One of my colleagues said it was the best one they had tried. I believed them!
1.00 PM
I started working on other projects. I am making updates in the Communication plan that I am developing for my team. The communication plan will serve as a framework sharing information for all the stakeholders involved to articulate a consistent message and have all the communications stored in one place to ensure easy access to information.
3.00 PM
It is time to attend meetings. On some days, we have a fun Wellbeing session with the team, which helps foster good health and wellbeing in the workplace.
4.00 PM
After attending meetings, I return to doing my projects, check for any new inboxes, and checking my calendar agenda for the next day.
4.30 PM
Time to log off, as it is finally home time! I like to make a quick stop at the bakery, which is just across the office.
