Pros and cons of working at Newmont Australia

Pros

  • The experience is incredibly valuable. The company structure is focused on developing staff skills in practical areas.

  • The people and the work culture at Tanami is the best part about working here. People are very hard working yet so helpful to one another to ensure that everyone is safe and the goals are achieved.

  • Huge variety of work at my current site, exposure to both the processing plant as well as the underground mine and surface facilities. Very practical and hands on experience and a lot of responsibility. Good culture and a good roster.

Cons

    • The potential for a slow rate of internal progression.

    • Sometimes I don't have a lot to do and don't feel like I'm helping the team

    • Plus 12 hour days and having to travel over 30 mins to and from the office at start and end of shifts
