I have learnt so much during my time at NRF, that I feel I would be very competent if I went to another firm. I feel like NRF creates and provides an atmosphere where you are able to work with support and confidence. NRF are willing to give junior lawyers a real go at work opportunities where you may not get that level of work other firms at such a junior stage.
Role entails the following: researching case law, reviewing various agreements, drafting various documents, interacting with colleagues more senior and of the same level, practice management and lots of education and training.
Legal research (on discrete questions and on commentary generally); letter and file note drafting; attending meetings; collating documents for briefs.

The quality of work is fantastic & rewarding. The opportunity to connect with colleagues internationally is great too.
The people and the culture. Working alongside my colleague’s everyday makes our work, which is already fantastic, very enjoyable.
The HR team does an excellent job of choosing the right mix of clerks and/or graduates. I truly feel like I have HR to thank for finding me new friends. The structure of the buddy program and mentor program is generally strong for first year law graduates.
The people I work with are very welcoming and helpful. I also really appreciate my graduate cohort and the support we have.
It never feels like NRF just does things to tick a box - instead they do it because they genuinely care. The culture in my team, office and firm as a whole feels like a big family.
The best things about working at my company are the people here who are incredibly supportive and truly care about developing a graduate's career. Additionally, the fast paced nature and exciting projects we work on are extremely interesting. Graduates get thrown in the deep end and are allowed to do important work as a result.
Career progression. Being a part of the Graduate program, you become a part of a program where in two years, you progress from a Graduate to an Associate. You are provided with the proper training and tools to really kick start your legal career.
The hours can be long but that's to be expected of a top tier law firm.
Obviously practice area resourcing is dictated by demand so sometimes it is difficult to work in the specific team that you want - this is true of all firms.
There can be an inconsistent workload (often COVID related).
It can be hard to get varied work if you are working exclusively under a specific person.
Global politics of a large firm
Sometimes long working hours
The varied pace of work can be difficult to deal with where sometimes you are flat out and other times it can be difficult to find work.
