I am currently in digital in the ManEx department. My day to day is working on a digital project - creating dashboards to visualize data coming through from the factory.

Everyday looks different. I do however have a lot of autonomy and trust to complete a range of tasks on my own, and make key decision on influence to the business. I work collaboratively with supply chain, marketing and customer teams to make sure we have product in the right paces, the right prices and correct positions.

Overall satisfied with the level of responsibility and accountability I hold; however tasks can be quite adhoc.

Pros and cons of working at Unilever ANZ

Pros

  • Flexible 4-day work week. Wide breadth of knowledge and experience to learn from. Supportive and genuine company culture.

  • The people. There are so many key influential people who constantly drive learning, development, support and fun to make the workplace such a positive place to be, and an ideal environment for early careers.

  • The flexibility, the people are kind and helpful, lots of opportunity to learn and grow.

  • Flexibility - 4 Day Work Week trial People - friendly and always willing to help Rewards - testing new products, discounts for our products and eating ice-cream!

  • In the office, the culture is good. With people very friendly and always willing to help. Also in-office benefits like ice cream, so people sometimes take breaks together and get ice cream.

Cons

    • Lack of succession planning for roles (no handover documents).

    • Sometimes things can be slow to get done, very complicated system process and approval processes.

    • Training and development by line managers. As the business is lean, line managers are often stretched with limited time to grow the upcoming generation.

    • Work can be stressful. There is always a mountain of work to get done - and everyone holds themselves to a very high standard.

    • Being placed far away from where I live. Long commute
