Pre screening phases over the phone. Assessment Center for final candidates - group assessments and an in person interview via Team Leader panel.

The assessment centre took about a day and involved a group presentation, networking session, panel interview and speakers who came to talk about their VMware experience, the culture, service learning, etc.

I had a few phone interviews with HR and my hiring manager before proceeding to the Assessment Day. The Assessment day involved me working with my fellow candidates in creating a presentation which we would deliver. Then I would have a panel interview with the hiring manager and other senior managers at VMware. Within the week, I received an offer.

The interview process was conducted in stages. Firstly there was a phone interview with an HR representative, then a second interview with the direct manager you would be working with. Finally, there was the assessment center where you would be assessed on your ability to work in a team and pass a final panel interview.

Follow the instructions and actually prepare for pre-work instructions provided prior to the Accessment Center. Do your research about the company and any IT fundamentals.

My advice for candidates wanting to apply to VMware is to not focus too much on where you are right now, but on where you want to be in the future and how you can achieve those goals within VMware.
