I was required to send through my information initially, I then had a phone interview, and a follow up video interview.

Unlike other Graduate programs were you are put through an unnecessary 7 stage recruitment process - Inland rail was more direct: A phone interview followed by a formal interview.

The interview process included a phone interview and a teams interview with a senior project manager and member of HR. I would say the face to face interview was a very positive experience, formal but friendly.

The interview process was very detailed and thorough they covered all aspects from prior study to experience/expertise in a certain field and what interests we have was also taken into consideration

What questions were you asked in your interviews?
Previous experience, examples of actions in specific circumstances, reasons for leaving previous role ( I applied for this role while dissatisfied with the roles I was in at the time)

There were a couple standard questions relating to safety, barriers etc. but the main thing thy seemed to be interested in was previous experience in the rail industry.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
What helped me was to do a review ( and make note of) of outstanding scenarios in the workplace with regards to initiative, safety and engineering, this can aid in answering specific questions at the time rather than trying to recall the details on the spot.

If you do not have previous rail experience ensure that you can explain exactly how your previous experiences in other industries can be utilised for the advertised position. Be friendly and open with your interviewers and try to find a connection. be happy to have a conversation rather than just rattling off your skills and experience.

Ensure that you read up on the STAR method. Know what type of company you are getting into and what they do. Prepare by going over practice interview questions and of course try not to be nervous and just have a conversation with the interviewers.
