Melbourne
Our Melbourne Spark Intern Program is designed for students in their penultimate year of university, who want to experience life at Pitcher Partners and understand what it is like to work in a professional service environment.
As an intern, you will be supported by a dedicated buddy and manager and complemented by close interactions with partners and senior staff.
Opportunities are available across several of our practice areas, including: Business Advisory and Assurance (audit), Private Business and Family Advisory (management accounting), Tax Advisory, Business Recovery and Insolvency Services and Investment Services. You can find information about our practice areas on our student careers page.
Healthy, happy and engaged people work better and smarter. Our environment offers flexibility to suit your individual needs and we encourage you to develop and maintain a balanced lifestyle.
Our program provides students with a variety of experiences including the opportunity to gain real life work experience, professional and technical development, networking events and exposure to the amazing Pitcher Partners’ culture. Through regular interaction with our partners and senior managers and a strong support network including an allocated buddy, this program allows you to promote yourself.
As an intern at Pitcher Partners you will benefit from:
Pitcher Partners has a reputation for achieving great things for our clients and a culture of care for our people. Our firm is the kind of place where you make lifelong friendships, and this sense of belonging resonates throughout our offices, providing us with a strong point of difference in the market.
Our people are inspired by diversity. If you embrace different ideas, welcome creativity, and are open to new ways of seeing business problems, you will discover a welcoming team who supports your career progression.
The program runs from 24th November 2025 to 30th January 2026. Interns will work full time over a 7-week period during the summer university break. The firm will close during the end of year period, with interns having 3 weeks off during this time.
You will bring a can-do attitude, a willingness to put your hand up, have a go, and step outside your comfort zone. With a track record of working in teams and an interest in self-development, you’re looking to improve yourself.
A graduate in audit - the work is very repetitive and doesn't simulate my mind that much. However when there is a lot of work it keeps me busy and time flies.
The BA&A(Audit) division has a variety of both audit and tax work. Day-to-day responsibilities range from preparing tax returns, FBT returns and BASs to audit fieldwork and planning. Often, we will travel to audit client sites to work which are all over Victoria.
day to day responsibilities include completing audit workpapers, liaising with clients to understand their entity, processes etc for a smooth audit. Further to that, regular communications with the performance manager and job manager to ensure there is a smooth workflow.

Pitcher Partners is unique – you'll make lifelong friends and feel as though you really belong. Our people join for the role and stay for the culture.
Supportive management and the ability to get involved in many different types of work.
All team members are very approachable and friendly, there is a great workplace culture.
The best thing about working at Pitcher Partners is how invested your colleagues are in your learning and development.
Very good office, new and well maintained, spacious and open and facilities such as sit-stand desks and an on-site barista are great.
The social culture at Pitchers is genuinely amazing! There are many events on as a firm.
Work load can be high at times.
There is sometimes a lack of work for all the graduates, meaning there never seems to be a consistent workflow.
The pay is an industry standard and receive a bonus for completing CA.
I found it very challenging to start client work during peak periods as everyone had a lot on their plate.
As part of the graduate program, places for positions in more specialist divisions are quite limited, and it is challenging to distinguish yourself from other graduates for selection. While there is a good working environment, and a lot of training is provided there is still a high expectation on your individual performance (both quality and efficiency).
