About the Program

Our Graduate Pathways Program is designed to support new graduates and students transitioning into the workforce in developing their clinical practice, building confidence, and honing the skills to become proficient and efficient practitioners.

  • In your Graduate Foundation Year, you will receive comprehensive support to ensure a smooth transition into the professional world. We understand the challenges that come with starting your career, and we are here to guide you every step of the way. Through tailored mentorship and practical experience, we will empower you to excel in your clinical practice and gain the confidence needed to thrive in the field.
  • Upon completing your foundation year, you will transition into your substantive role while simultaneously benefiting from our program's second year - the Development Year. During this phase, you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of development streams that align with your interests and aspirations. Whether you aspire to specialize in a particular area of nursing or seek to upskill and broaden your knowledge, we've got you covered. We offer supported postgraduate study options to further enrich your expertise, equipping you with the necessary tools to shape your own learning journey.

Multiple Specialties Available

Explore countless opportunities with Ramsay Health Care! With 72 locations nationwide, you can choose from a wide range of sites and specialties to find your perfect career path. As part of our program, you have the flexibility to rotate across specialties or sites, expanding your horizons and gaining valuable experience.

Specialties may include:

  • Perioperative: Assist in surgical procedures and be part of a dedicated team. We offer rotations through PACU, anesthetics & scrub scout
  • General Medical: Make a real difference in patients' lives on medical units.
  • General Surgical: Contribute to surgical care and recovery.
  • Mental Health: Support individuals on their path to recovery.
  • Rehab: Help patients regain their strength and independence.
  • Paediatrics: Make a lasting impact on the lives of children in need.
  • Maternity: Provide care and support to new mothers and babies.

About You:

  • You are passionate about providing your learned knowledge and skills to develop your dream profession of becoming a Nurse!
  • You have completed or are towards the end of completing your Nursing or Midwifery degree (Diploma or Bachelors)
  • You have full working rights
  • You are able to meet the requirements to become an Enrolled Nurse, a Registered Nurse or a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) prior to your commencement.

Pros

  • The support that has been given since I started. I have had the opportunity to work in different business areas and I feel that sometimes my opinion is valued.

  • A good blend of autonomy and support throughout the graduate program.

  • The educational growth pathways eg Grad certs available through Ramsay. Many programs are available if you want to change roles.

  • Flexibility with rostering and shifts, being able to maintain a work life balance. Constantly learning and developing skills/knowledge.

  • The amazing support I have had from day 1 from my colleagues, the graduate coordinators and the management teams in each area which has contributed to my professional growth as a nurse.

Cons
