Interruption Underwriting Agencies (IUA) is one of 27 specialist agencies under the Steadfast Underwriting Agencies Group; each agency is focused on specific market segments. IUA specialises in Business Interruption Insurance, providing the Australian Insurance market an alternative to traditional covers. 

Due to significant growth, we have 3 opportunities available across Sydney and Melbourne locations. This exciting position is ideally suited to an individual with an educational background in accounting who has an aptitude for numbers and looking for a career in insurance in an established underwriting agency.

The main focus of this role is to provide underwriting services to the broker network and internal staff, including development of, and maintaining broker relationships to the highest standard.  Don't worry, we will provide you with the training to learn to underwrite.

In this role, you will:

• Actively underwrite new business, renewals & endorsements in line with your underwriting authority level, as well as broader company procedures and manuals.
• Ensure premium quotations for both renewals and new business are written to the prescribed rate increases and apply the necessary excesses.
• Provide an exceptional operational and customer service experience for diverse internal and external stakeholders including our broker national network, underwriters and strategic partners

• Ability to deal with multiple tasks whilst meeting reporting deadlines
• Ability to communicate at all levels in a multiple stakeholder environment- liaison with clients and other departments
