The Recruitment Process

Please kindly share if you have completed any internships before in which it has fulfilled your course requirements.

If shortlisted, you are required to attend:

1) Coding Exercise

This is the initial stage in our interview process. The coding exercise will take around an hour time to complete and is consisted of 4 tasks. You can select your preferred programming language to conduct the test and the system will auto select 4 tasks for you.

2) Hiring Manager Interview

If you passed the initial coding challenge, we will advance you to the hiring manager interview which will be a 60min Zoom Video Interview for us to understand your experience, projects, aspirations and more!

3) 2 Technical interviews as the final round of the recruitment stage

This will be the final stage of the recruiting process. You will be meeting with engineers to conduct a live coding discussion. The topic will be about problem solving, coding and system design. The question will be shared when you meet with the engineers. Each of the technical interview will be an hour long and there will be a 15min break in between two the technical interviews.

The selection criteria :

You might be a great fit for a Software Engineer internship at The Trade Desk if:

• You are fluent in one or more modern object-oriented programming languages
• Have a firm grasp on basic data structures and algorithmic techniques
• Are a quick and self-directed learner. We provide close support and mentorship, but you will have ownership over the design, plan, and implementation of what you build
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program (4th year)
• You can work in our Sydney office for the duration of your internship (if our offices are still closed for health & safety precautions - the internship program will be remote)

Remuneration & Career prospects

The Trade Desk is looking for interns where you will learn everything you need to know about advertising technology. You will also get hands on experience in projects as well as contribute to business decisions. This internship will be a 6-month placement and you are required to work as a full timer (Monday - Friday, 9 - 6pm).

• Own and ship a meaningful project, end-to-end. We believe strongly in ownership at The Trade Desk, and we are committed to you having something substantial to show for your time here that will make a positive Impact for the team
• Receive close, one-on-one mentorship from an experienced software engineer
• Collaborate with a globally-connected team of engineers, Interns & other teams and departments In cities across the world
• Work with new technologies across a wide spectrum of computer science, including: distributed systems, petabyte-scale data processing, machine learning/AI, and UI/UX
