Pros & Cons

  • Working with highly skilled and competent people on critical infrastructure projects.
  • Work life balance, the people, the work environment, interesting work, plenty of opportunities, great support, happy and friendly environment, work flexibility
  • Flexible hours, competitive pay, option for a nine day fortnight, fulfilling work and lots of development opportunities.
  • Working with some of the very best in the industry in Australia. Indeed a great place to turbocharge a professional career in power utility and renewable transition.
  • Learning support and flexibility with work arrangements.
  • Some of the policies and procedures involved working for a State Owned Enterprise are frustrating at times.
  • Some processes, some things can be a bit slow to action.
  • Steep learning curve of various software and continuity of software between departments
  • Participating in the Graduate program offers a dual-edged perspective. On one hand, it grants me the valuable opportunity to gain exposure across various facets of the company. However, just as I begin to establish a sense of comfort and familiarity within a specific role, the program requires me to transition to a fresh role within Powerlink.
  • The company is currently rapidly expanding to accommodate the energy transition which presents some difficulties such as lack of desk space.

This is the best graduate program I could have ever come across. I get to work in all aspects of the company and then decide where I’d like my career to continue in. I can’t think of a better career opportunity than that.

A good variety of work and very diverse. I work primarily for line strategies, but allow to lend a hand to secondary and comms team. I have given very high level of autonomy and freedom in my work which I need for my kind of work style. My direct supervisor reassures me the quality of my work and provides timely feedback and instructions.
